Melphalan is approved for palliative treatment of: Multiple myeloma. Ovarian epithelial cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. Melphalan is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer.
ALKERAN is used to treat certain types of cancer (such as multiple myeloma, ovarian). Melphalan belongs to a class of drugs known as alkylating agents. It works by slowing or stopping the growth of cancer cells.
A drug used to treat multiple myeloma and ovarian epithelial cancer that cannot be removed by surgery. It is also being studied in the treatment of other types of cancer. Melphalan may kill cancer cells by damaging their DNA and stopping them from dividing. It is a type of alkylating agent. Also called Alkeran Tablets.
